FACT PROJECT - INITIAL DRAWINGS

After going to oxford to the two museums I had a wealth of inspiration and ideas, but having also watched David Attenborough's series 'Life' decided to look at insects and their bizarre mating habits and rituals.

I didn't really feel my drawings were doing the insects any justice, and wanted to charcterise them a bit more and make some small models, ultimately to create an animation sequence.

In my head I was starting to make some funny comparisons between some of the insect mating habits and human ones, such as females using scent to attract males, males fighting for mating rights, and males presenting females with gifts...all of which I had observed in these insects.
